Our Constitution

In November 2017 a Special General Meeting was held to adopt a new constitution for our Sport in NSW. Aside from the new constitution, a resolution was passed to change the name from Billiards and Snooker Association of NSW Inc. to Snooker and Billiards NSW. This name changed is aligned with changes to other sports across NSW.

The adoption of a new constitution marks a new era for our sport after we recently celebrated the 100 year anniversary. A key feature of the new constitution is the removal of references to legacy positions such as President, Secretary and Treasurer. Instead, the Board will consist of a minimum of 4 and maximum of 7 Directors of which one will be voted by the elected Board as the ‘Chairman’.

Australian Billiards and Snooker Council (ABSC)

The Australian Billiards and Snooker Council (ABSC) is the official national governing body for Billiards and Snooker in Australia. The ABSC is a member of both the International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) and the World Snooker Federation (WSF). Snooker and Billiards NSW is an affiliate member of the ABSC and has representation on the Board through its NSW Executive Member.

The ABSC aligns its governance including policies and procedures with the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) as well as the World governing bodies.
