Hi All
The Oceania Entry Forms are now available to be downloaded at www.absc.com.au.
I have attached them for your convenience and request that you show them to your friends or post them on the notice Board at your Snooker club. Details of preferred accommodation at the Lansvale Resort will be available on the ABSC website by Wednesday next week. If you have any queries please contact me by return email or on 0418903655.
We have attempted to provide opportunities for Teams from all countries to play in Test Matches, both male and female. Australia will try to add extra players to make up extra Teams to ensure all visitors get to play as many games as possible whilst in Sydney.
The Men’s Test Matches will be on the Saturday, followed by the Opening Ceremony, with the Women’s commencing on the Monday and played through to Wednesday. This will allow all players to participate in the inaugural 6 Red Championship that is open to men and women. If possible we will also run a Plate on the 6 Red event, but we will have to see what the time constraints are as the Championships progress.
The Billiards will commence on the Sunday and be played during the day with Women’s Test Matches also during the day. The 6 Red will be played in the evenings and should attract considerable interest from the locals; a number of whom we hope will participate.
There are some variations to the normal Rules of Snooker for the 6 Red Championships, and details of these will be available on the website shortly.
I look forward to seeing you and all your friends being in Sydney for celebration of our sport, which is the Oceania Billiards & Snooker Championships.
Regards
Barrie Jones
